African People's Socialist Party - Black Star Industries

Introducing the economic future for African people

Black Star Industries is a Limited Liability Company (LLC) that brings all of the economic development institutions and projects of the African People’s Socialist Party under one single umbrella.

It also provides opportunities for community partnership subsidiary companies which benefit both Black Star Industries and enterprising individuals.

Black Star Industries:

  • Generates resources for economic development programs and projects of the African People’s Socialist Party, creating organizational self-reliance.
  • Allows nonprofit organizations of the Uhuru Movement to have relationship to the economic institutions of the African People’s Socialist Party.
  • Fosters collective African business ownership and community commerce.

An independent economy that meets our needs

Black Star Industries begins to replace the colonialist economy which is clearly not meeting the needs of the African community.

The impact of the current economic crisis is deep for African working class people who face mass unemployment, imprisonment, home foreclosures, and an ever widening wealth gap.

The world economy was created at the expense of African and other oppressed peoples. As more and more people around the world are demanding and taking back their resources, the U.S. and Europe go into a crisis that they attempt to solve at our expense. We must develop an independent economy that meets our needs.

Black Star Industries is our economic future, developing wealth and prosperity for Africa and African people everywhere.

We cannot solve our problems alone, but with each other we can build an economy that sustains ourselves and puts us on the road to independence and self-determination.

We can teach ourselves how economic development works, and the importance of giving back to help each other not as charity, but to create a self-sustaining economy that we control.

Black Star Industries is the legacy of Marcus Garvey and the creation and vision of APSP Chairman Omali Yeshitela

Black Star Industries takes its name from the Black Star Line shipping company that was organized by Marcus Garvey and the UNIA in 1919.

Like Garvey’s efforts, Black Star Industries’ intent is to organize independent economic development for the international African community as part of the struggle for self-determination.

We want to thank the leadership of African People’s Socialist Party Chairman and Uhuru Movement founder Omali Yeshitela who has carried the legacy of Marcus Garvey and the Garvey movement to create Black Star Industries.

Black Star Industries is only part of the Chairman’s vision and 40 years of struggle to build a movement of African people recognizing that all the vast resources of Africa are our birthright.

In the process of building economic development and economic self-reliance, we are preparing to self-govern once again.
