All Roads Lead to the Congress

Posters, freedom of speech and counterinsurgency

The Uhuru Movement has been hanging up posters throughout the south side of St. Petersburg, Florida to raise awareness about the issues facing African people here and worldwide and to promote the upcoming Sixth Congress of the African People's Socialist Party (APSP).

The city of St. Petersburg has begun removing the Uhuru Movement’s posters from poles and has threatened to charge us a $100 fine for every poster they take down!

The city says nothing to those who hang up posters about freak shows and liquor.

We know that the city doesn’t want African people to be informed about what is going on in the world.

They know that posters are one of the only ways that the African working class has to get information out.

The Uhuru Movement is calling on the African community to challenge the police whenever they see them taking down a poster, to record the act on video and then call the Uhuru Movement at 727-851-2099.
