  • Registrant Categories
    There are two categories of registrants:
    1. Individuals
    2. Organizational Representatives
    If an organization is sending multiple people, then one of the people needs to register as an Organizational Representative (and pay the higher registration fee), while the others should register as an Individual (but indicate their organizational affiliation on the form).
  • ASI Resolution
    Organizations and Individuals interested in participating in the ASI Organization are required to read and unite with the ASI Resolution. The Resolution can be obtained online at http://www.asiuhuru.org or by contacting the ASI Interim Committee with the above contact information. All Participants are urged to read the document.
  • Presentations
    The presentations at the conference are of these types:
    • Solidarity Statements
    • Special Issue Reports
    • Country Reports
    If you or your organization would like to make a presentation, you need to make a formal request to the ASI Interim Committee at the above address, indicating the report type and focus. All presentations must be submitted in written form to the ASI Interim Committee by 15 September 2006.
  • Registration Fees
    Paid registration prior to the event is £5 less than same-day registration. The deadline for pre-registration is October 5, 2006 (two days before). Fees must be paid in full to qualify. Advantages of pre-registration are a secure seat and no lines on conference day.

    Meals, Housing, and the Cultural Event are not included in the registration fee.

    Registration is higher for Organizational Representatives (£45) than for Individual registration (£25).

  • Payment
    A receipt will be issued for all monies received. Fees may be paid in cash, cashiers cheques, money orders or U.K. cheques. Please make cheques/money orders payable to the African Socialist International. For cheque payment, only UK cheques are accepted, and no cheques will be accepted after September 25, 2006.
  • Visas
    Countries in Africa, the Caribbean, South and Central America require Visas to enter the U.K. An "invitation letter" may be necessary to obtain your visa. If needed, a letter of invitation must be requested from the ASI committee 3 months prior to travel as obtaining a visa requires time.
  • Housing
    We have arranged for the following hotel. For these rates you will need to make your reservations by contacting the ASI Interim Committee, not by directly contacting the hotel.
    • Majestic Hotel
      Choices are:
      • Single £40
      • Triple £60 (£20 per person)
      • Quad £80 (£20 per person)
      All these rooms come with a television. Not all rooms have a shower. The price includes breakfast.

    • Housing in private homes is also available at £50. to £80. a week.
  • Deadlines
    A summary of deadlines in preparation for the conference:
    • 7 July 2006 - requests for "invitation letters" for visas
    • 15 September 2006 - presentations must be submitted
    • 25 September 2006 - UK cheques no longer accepted
    • 5 October 2006 - pre-registration ends
    • 7 October 2006 - conference begins
